Yeah, so the first question refers to the “second person,” not the “person in second place.” It’s actually grammatically incorrect to refer to the person in second place as such – so really the quiz gets the question wrong. Or I guess that would be the author of the quiz…?

Could go on but I think the first question betrays the overall quality well enough.

If you can’t overtake the last person, why do you ask “If you overtake the last person…?”

This is a leading question that expects an answer alluding to the content of the question.

The answer, therefore will be: “Second to last.”

But you can’t overtake the last person by your rules, so this automatically invalidates the question anyhow.

Poor trick.

And Mary’s fifth sister may be named “Nunu” becauce by the loose rules of this quiz “five daughters” doesn’t necessarily mean “only five daughters” now does it?
