There is another method the get music downloads and free music from itunes that still works during as tested by winandmac.com under iTunes 8.0.1. through that site we found another way for you guys to try. It uses the trick through App Store. No need to enter credit card. It has also been tested under iTunes 8.0.1.
How to Get Free Music Downloads from Itunes
Step 1. Choose the Store. Then find some freeware from the App Store. Click “Get Appâ€.
Step 2. It will ask you to create a new account. Click to Create a new Account.
Step 3. Enter the required information. Click Continue.

didn’t work for me… i have the newest itunes. every time i try to buy something, it makes me log in, but instead of a log in button, there is just “cancel” and “billing info”, which takes me to a screen where i must enter credit card info. if i choose “none” at the cc screen, it simply doesn’t download anything.

Yes I think this trick don’t work anymore, I spent two hours yesterday (changing the country/langage, trying with different version of Itunes)…

this isn’t working for me. I guess apple put a stop to this hole.
Apple keeps asking me: “You did not complete the entire form. Please enter your credit card number. The credit card expiration date you entered ha already passed. Please enter a valid expiration date.”
even when I select none.
So far I’ve emailed Apple and they’ve sent a reply telling me that I need a credit card to create an account. So I sent back an Apple published “help” (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534) that says you don’t need a credit card to create an account. I’m waiting for a reply.
