When it comes to additional fees from airlines, the hassle of baggage claim and other strict TSA regulations, making oneself in a way to carry-on luggage becomes necessary and also will make your journey much comfortable.
How can I pack light?
This is a question most people will probably want to know. So, here are some of my favorite tips I want to share with you:
1. Compile a list…and reconsider it once more.
By making a packing list and checking it twice, you will not only get able to reduce items, but it will also help you in remembering to add underwear (you will ne’er leave underwear this way).
2. Follow a color scheme.
The best way to produce space in your bag is to control the pairs of shoes you selected and don’t make unnecessary repeats same type of clothing stuff. In this way you will mix and match almost everything in your bag. It’s better if the color scheme revolves around your most well thought-out travel shoe-pair.
3. Wear Layers to free up space.
If you are going to a cold weather location, there is no need to bring your bulkiest sweaters. Wear silk long underwear, then a shirt and finally a leather jacket over all. Go as a toasty and travel savvy guy.
4. Hand wash laundry.
Soap packets can help you by giving you the flexibility to re-wear anything that get dirty or malodorous and do not covers lot space.
5. Drop items you never use at home.
Folks going abroad for the first time often do the mistake of thinking they’re going to other planet and pack many extra items also. This common mistake happens often due to the lot of fantastic looking travel gadgets available, but a good guideline is if you do not use them at home, you will also don’t need them in your trip.
6. Can buy them in a destination
As you are not going to Mars, you can buy things in your destination; you will not only utilize them, but when you take them home they can become souvenirs for you! Moreover, you also may find the quality face lotion or hair conditioner in a brand which is costly back in the States.
7. Keep mini.
You rightly get it…never go with a bulky hairdryer or flashlight, etc. If you can’t take out these things then purchase them in miniature-size. A low-priced LED penlight is perfect to light up a room or a hiking trail comfortably and can easily be kept during moving there. Go to online travel stores such as Magellan’s or TravelSmith to see some more minis.
8. Packing Cubes
Packing Cubes and mesh storage bags helps in keeping yourself organized and saving more space. This can be greatly helpful if you will visit multiple destinations on the itinerary and need different types of clothing there in different climates. Packing cubes are particularly helpful if you have children with you and want to keep everything under control.
9. Roll large, heavy things, and leave the rest alone.
Not just is this a pain for your butt, it doesn’t really save any space. To save yourself from headache, you can be in a good condition by picking couple of items out, and packing things that do not wrinkle at all.
10. Tag Luggage Properly
Go with unique luggage or luggage tags so that you can keep track of your bag during traveling. Moreover, if you do end up in baggage claim, you will recognize your beautiful zebra stripe bag or cute luggage tags coming from distance otherwise you will be elbowing people out of your way checking each non-descript black bag that passes by.
Enjoy Happy and light travels!
