New year is finally hear and there are predictions on going about what will happen in the next year. Here are some predictions regarding as to what will happen in the travel industry.

  • Airfares will be going up, with hotel rates going down.
  • Famous resorts such as Caribbean and Hawaii will gain popularity with budget-conscious travelers.
  • Booking early will be best to get the lowest airfare. Capacity cuts means airlines have more pricing power than 2009.
  • Vacation packages will be the best to get as. Although hotels don’t like lowering their standalone rates, but they are willing to do them as part of a package.
  • Travelers who get a complete package including flight and hotel will be able to save the most.

  • If you want to get a nice holiday deal, then go for Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco, as it is expected that over all rates will be lower there due to discounts.
  • Car rental prices will be high, with few deals and some sold-out locations. Try to go for less-expensive brands such as Payless or Advantage and rent from off-airport locations to save money.
  • Get discounted deals online to save good money.
  • Price differences between five-and four-star hotels will get smaller.
  • Possibly, travel marketers may target people who’ve lost their jobs but have some money hidden away, by offering good deals and adventures that will help them re-evaluate their lives.
  • Business travelers may have to start bundling several short trips into one longer trip with several stops, to save time and money.
