We all are well aware of the seven wonders of the world. They are all man-made. Here we are giving a list of 10 amazing natural wonders of the world. I hope that it would be a really astonishing experience for you all.
The first wonder on our list is the Ice Circles. They are the discs of ice normally formed in the slow moving water, in some area having very low temperature. They are round just like a disc and watching them is a very amazing experience. They normally occur at the bending position of the river. Scandinavia and North America are the places where the ice circles are formed frequently. But an ice circle was unexpectedly formed in Britain in Jan 2009.
Our next wonder is the Red Tides. They are also called an algal bloom. The making of the red tide is actually the process of discoloration of water resulting from a large amount of algae in the water. In this process estuarine, marine and fresh water algae accumulate in the water and cause discoloration. In this process water changes its color from purple to pink and some times red to green. If you look at these tides from height, you will see huge tides of red colors that seem really thrilling to eyes.

Columnar Basalts is another natural wonder. Apparently they look like artificially constructed columns of stones but actually they are the result of rapid cooling down of the lava flow. The best formed and famous columnar basalt is Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. If you are planning a vacation nearby, this natural wonder is really worth watching.

Sun Dogs, a wonderful natural phenomenon is a kind of ice halo. Its a huge colored patch of light round the sun. Some times people take them as rainbow but they are not. They can be appeared in any season of the year. There is no particular time for it. They are commonly seen in Europe or USA once or twice a week. Their beauty enhances, if the sun is low. They look clearer and brighter.
The Moeraki Boulders are round and spherical. Otago Coast of New Zealand is highly recommended if you really want to see this art of nature. They could be occurred in scattered or clustered forms. Such boulders are formed as a result of collision of waves with mudstone having local bedrock. Some of them are so spherical in form that it becomes hard to believe that they are not man-made.About one-third of the boulders range in size from about 0.5 to 1.0 meters in diameters and the other two-thirds from 1.5 to 2.2 meters.
Our next natural wonder is called Penitentes. They are found in high altitudes. Penitentes are groups of sharp blade like hardened ice spaced closely. Darwin described them first time in literature in 1839. Their direction is generally towards sun. As far as size is concerned it could be as small as a baby and as tall as a grown up man.

Light Pillars are the next phenomenon of nature and really incredible too. They are also called the sun pillars. It is actually the reflection of light from ice crystals on the near parallel planar surface. Most of the light pillars are formed by the sun light but moon light or artificial light can also be the source. They can be seen clearly when the sun is low. These tall pillars of light are really amazing to see.

The Catatumbo lightning is the only and the most furious ozone generator. This lightning results from a cloud storm and that produces a more than 5 km high voltaic arc. This process happens for 140 to 160 nights yearly. It could continue for 10 hours a day and 280 times in an hour. This wonder happens over Catatumbo river that flows towards the lake Maracaibo. This phenomenon could easily be seen from this lake.
Cave of the Crystals is in Mexico in the mine of Naica. This cave has the largest selenite crystals of the world. The cave’s largest crystal is 36 ft in length, 13 ft in diameter and 55 tons in weight. The cave of crystals is 98ft in length and 33ft in width. The temperature is so hot in this mine that no human can survive here for more than 10 min. That is the reason why it is still not explored completely. Watching it really makes you feel the strong presence of nature.
Our last wonder is now vanished from the earth and that is really saddening. These are the pink and white terraces. These terraces were formed by thick pink and white silica, enclosed with water, like natural pools of water. the white terraces were larger and more astonishing to eyes.On the other hand the pink terraces were the one where people used to take bath. A large number of people are convinced on the point that it’s the eighth wonder of the world.
