All of us have been interested in horror flicks,urban legends and haunted houses,at some point of time in our lives. There is a class of people that does not believe in the existence of ghosts and phantoms. But overall people are still quite skeptical about it. We can’t give a final judgment on it but sometimes some experiences of people led us to think contrary. There are some places where people could feel some paranormal activities.
Here we are giving the list of some of the most terrifying and haunted roads from all over the world. The legends described under are totally based on the experiences of people,traveling there. so don’t take it as a mare work of fiction. and next time if you are traveling there, be aware.
A75 Kinmont Straight is the first on our haunted roads list. This road is located in South West, Scotland. It’s a byway,heavily surrounded by mountains and forests. It feels really creepy if you are traveling at night. There are many supernatural and strange incidents associated to it. Many people complained to see some ghost appearance there. That is the reason why the road is also called “ The Ghost Road”. The most famous incident related to this road is when a truck driver was just about to hit a couple, walking down that road, as he stopped the truck, no one was on the road. Both of them disappeared.
Kelly Road, located in Ohioville, Pennsylvania is a real mystery that is still unsolved. Many strange incidents have been reported here for several times. Most interestingly, not the whole road but a very short track of almost a mile is under control of some supernatural power. According to the locals, even the animals, once entered in that section of the road, get so restless and violent, that it becomes hard to control them.
The whole area is located within a very dark and thick forest. There is also a very old and horrifying graveyard very close to that road. The people of that area say that the whole area is under some strong curse. And this the reason of the strange noises and white apparitions experienced by the travelers.
Dead Man’s Curve is one of the deadliest curves, located in Clermont County of Ohio. There is a very long list of victims on this road. Many deadly and breathtaking accidents happened here. One of them took place on 19 Oct,1969, when five teenagers died on the spot in the collision of their 1968 Impala with a 1969 Road runner. A boy named Rick was the only survivor. After that the road is said to be under some bizarre happenings. Rick the man who survived the accident, complained of watching a faceless hitchhiker five times.
He and his friend Todd saw some strange apparition on the same road. In Todd’s own words, “ “Rick and I were heading home from Bethel to Amelia. I noticed a man’s shape on the side of the road . It turned like it was hitchhiking, with an arm sticking up. The thing wore light-colored pants, a blue shirt, long hair and a blank, flat surface where the face should have been. We looked back. There was nobody there. I’ve also seen the black shadow figure, walking its slow, labored, dragging walk by the side of the road”.
To guess the actual location of the deadly turn is some what difficult because the road was rerouted. Some say it is at 222 and SR125, near the Bantam Road. If you ever get a chance of being there just watch out.
Another haunted intersection that has been terrifying the travelers since long is in the city of Illinois called Belvidere. Bloods point Road is the most terrifying of all the other roads in the Boone County. Besides this there are other spooky roads like Wheeler, Flora Church, Pearl, Poole, Sweeney, Cherry Valley, Stone Quarry,Fairdale and Irene. It is said that these roads are under the spell of some wicked witch. And her spells are the main cause of the horrifying incidents happening here mostly like suicides,murders,hangings,strangling and many train accidents.
Guys this next one is really going to scare you because when I heard of it I was really shocked and terrified for a moment.Stockbridge By-Pass of England is a really spooky and haunted place. There have been many unexplainable events that takes one’s breath away like noise of children singing and playing in the middle of the night when there is no body around. Not only this, there have been many sightings, reported of the children playing under the bridge and a monk is standing by them. The scariest of all is that some times a monk appears on the seat of the people, right next to them,while driving. That also caused some accidents. Even the police investigation was started in a case of the apparition of a monk but nothing could be found.
M6 Motorway of England is also said to be a haunted place. There have been many disturbing events with the motorists there. Somebody has seen a group of Roman soldiers marching over the road. Some complained of a phantom pick up going in the no entry zone. Another said that he watch a lady waiting for a ride and disappeared all of a sudden. In spite of many investigations by the locals the mystery remained unsolved.
Tuen Mun Road of Hong Kong is another domain of bizarre happenings. This is said to be a very heavy road as far as traffic is concerned. Many traffic jams take place here. The road is also notorious for it’s high ratio of accidents. According to some people who have had accidents here, they saw some one on the road and just in the try to save their lives,they had an accident. But actually there was no one. Many people complained the same problem.
In Utah, United States, there is High way 666 also known as Highway 191. This high way also share the same kind of incidents and apparitions as we have seen above. there have been many terrible accidents on this road. Some people said they saw a lady in white, or strange lights in the sky and some hitchhiker who vanishes on getting close.
A lady called Linda Dunning shared a spooky night incident that took place with her husband. She said, “ He [author's husband] was alone and hadn’t seen a car for miles and miles. Suddenly, he saw a truck that looked like it was on fire heading straight for him, right down the middle of the highway. The truck was going so fast that sparks were flying up off the wheels and flames were coming from the smokestack. It scared him so bad that he pulled way off the road and walked 20 feet or so out into the desert away from his car and waited for the truck to pass him, going what he estimated was 130 miles an hour. He then got back into his car and continued on.”
A229 from Sussex to Kent in England is another claimed to be haunted location. The people here often complain of watching a lady in a white gown that vanishes all of a sudden.According to the locals it is the spirit of a girl named Judith Lang ham, who was tragically killed on her wedding day.Sharpe, another guy who saw this lady describes his spooky experience in these words,
“In November 1992 Ian Sharpe was heading up the A229 from Sussex into Kent. A girl in white with “beautiful eyes” stepped in front of his car and she disappeared under the front Wheels. In total despair Sharpe stopped the car believing he had killed her and was powerless to help. On leaving the car at the point he came out but strangely he found nothing there. No girl, no body no white dress – or even any wildlife; a fox a badger or a rabbit.
Clinton Road in Passaic County, New Jersey is a track heavily haunted by various spirits and supernatural creatures. It is said that there are grey wolves with red eyes roaming on the road in the mid of the night not only this if you stop on the bridge of the dead man’s curve and toss a coin in the water a ghost of a lad will toss it back to you. Though it sounds unbelievable but people have actually faced it. Some people said that they saw strange and unexplainable creatures on the road. This road is very famous for dangerous accidents that took place here.
Some people have reported strange lights in the sky ,at night,in this area. White apparitions are normally seen. But no one could have declared the truth hidden behind all these freaking events. But one thing that we can say for sure is there is something mysterious that is causing all above mentioned haunting experiences, but it’s yet to be unfolded.
