We all know that day by day travelling security is getting tighter and tighter. Instead of tightening their grip on terrorists it seems like they are tightening it around our grips. But can we blame them its after all for our safety, so in order to escape the hassle of hold-ups and checkups. It’s advisable to travel light, it not only saves you from the headaches of baggage checks and having to hold so many bags and remember your numbers too. Following are 8 tips through which you can enjoy the packing and the travelling, instead of becoming a horrifying harassing experience it will be a more ease free, smooth walk through the airport to your destination.luggage full and ready to travel

List, list, list your necessities

It is important to first figure out what are your travel purposes. Are you travelling for vacations, are with the family, is it a business trip or are you simply going to attend an occasion. Once identified the purpose than accordingly list down what you will require for that occasion. For instance if it is a business trip you would want to pack coordinating tops and bottoms, choose colors which will be sober, solids and can be converted easily into evening, casual wear in case you need to hit to the bars or pubs after the official meetings.

Make space by rolling them up

We usually think that tidy neat fold ups will leave us enough space to add-on. But we are wrong, to make the most efficient use of the space you have for your suitcase, roll up your clothing and if you fear for the crease to be lost than start off with the bulky side of the cloth. How do you roll them up? Well start off neatly folding the shirts, blouses and pants then fold them in half and than roll.

Fancy, glam glam

So what about those occasions where you might have to attend a fancy dinner, a gala, or a ballroom dancing invite. Well to make the most of what you are carrying, you could include accessories which could glam your simple black dress into an elegant evening gown. By simply adding some bling- bling to your simple mundane clothes you could successfully create an impressive glamorous outfit for your party time. For example, furs, jewelry, or belts all could be used to drape that simple black dress.

Light and easy.

It is in your benefit if your luggage is easy for you to walk around with it. It should neither be overloaded or less loaded, simply adequate and necessary items should be packed since when you are away on business trips, they usually last for a couple of days no more than a week. Materials such as micro fibers, wrinkle and stain-free, should be considered while packing your bags and stay focused on one single color if in case you may have to layer up for warmth,

Shoes – the biggest problem???

For a number of people shoes are a very big and disturbing problem, especially for those ladies who want their whole walk-in-closet to be packed into the bags. Remember that you don’t have space and only can fit in 1, 2 shoes in your baggage. So make the most of the pairs you are planning to carry. For men they can opt for one which can be used for their day wear meetings and conferences, than a casual one which could be used for sight-seeing and attending pubs and bars. For ladies they can opt for sandals, flip-flops or medium heels. You wouldn’t want to end up with nasty blisters.

Hide them undies someplace safe.

Another disturbing notion is when your baggage is opened up for checking and your undergarments are scattered all over the place in your suitcase. This idea gives me the scare and nightmares at night just before my flight, so assume for you too it must be an embarrassment of being disclosed in such a way that too in front of a pool of other people. So here’s the solution, pack up all your underwear in a zip-lock bag and place them either on the top netted pocket opposite to your clothing or merely on top of your clothing so that the security doesn’t man-handle your luggage.

Keep the extras at home – you will come back.

Identify what you really require, and most important is to identify the purpose this will help you to break down and make it easier for you to plan out your packing. Do not include unnecessary items such as blow dryers, hangers and bathrobe. This and other similar products are provided by the hotel at which you will stay. Toothpaste, toothbrush, vanity items can be provided by the room service, so don’t fret it unless you are a hygiene freak, than you know what’s your business.

Restricted items are best safe at home.

Check out the updated list of illegal and restricted items on your internet so that you are not held up unnecessarily on the airport. It is best to understand that if you require scissors, razors etc can be bought once you land at your destination. Another suggestion is that while you are abroad don’t buy any souvenirs which are sharp, razor-bladed or anything that can be treated as a potential threat. It would create an embarrassing situation with the security and we all know that we have to avoid that rattle.

Like it, but just one point: rolling clothes up DOES NOT save space!! Proved and proved again! I am used to travelling light and can fit practically anything in a carry-on bag, but not by rolling my clothes up. I fold them carefully and make them as flat as possible. ^^
