Lotus Lake: A Beautiful Place In Taiwan

Lotus Lake  is a popular tourist destination situated in the south of taiwan, Zuoying District of Kaohsiung City. The lake is man made and  Opened in 1951, the lotus lake because of many lotus plants arround the lake. Another reason of its popularity is the beautiful temples surrounded the lake, few of the named as Confucian Templs, Spring and Autmn Pavilions and the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.

In world Game 2009 which was held in taiwan the lotus lake was the site for many of the water sports including canoe polo, water ski, and dragon boat.

While on the road to Kaohsiung in Taiwan, it take more than half a day to check out Lotus Lake, in Zuoying which is in northern suburbs of the city and situated 5km north of the city center. There is a lot to see on lotus lake spot. You can even spend a full day to see all the available sights.

Majority of the temples and pagodas are on the right side of the lake, which is only 1.5km long and 500m wide. If you want to see all the temples it is better to walk through the area, you will be able to see different viewpoint and angles to take pictures of the buildings and construction.

Managing Time While Visiting the Lake

If one don’t have much time to spend on the lake than it is advised that start the trip from the southwestern end of the lake, exactly from Dragon Tiger Pavilion and walk all the way towards  Confucius Temple which is considered to be the largest temple in Taiwan’s largest, towards the northern side.
