Strasbourg – The Historical Centre Of France

Strasbourg is a very beautiful city. It can not be described or defined in a few lines. It is full of history and news. Most people do not know about this city or those who know have less knowledge or misconception about this city. This city will welcome you with it’s splendid Cathedral, it’s delicious and fine food, it’s world heritage site the Grande-Ile, which is also a UNESCO world heritage site and it’s peaceful atmosphere. All this makes this city famous for it’s history and tradition.

Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region of France. It is located in the Rhine valley and it is South East of Paris and South West of Frankfurt. It is populated with approximately 650,000 people.It has important insitutions like the European Court of Human Rights, the European Ombudsman, the European Parliament and the Council of Europe.

Strasbourg is a distinguishing city as it has openness to new ideas and technologies, it is a free city and it is the closing point to the major trading routes. Many great personalities such as Gutenberg, Calvin and Goethe have been attracted to Strasbourg due to it’s economic prosperity,  it’s intellect as a centre for religious tolerance.
