Texas is the second largest state of America. Its area is more than 268,601 square miles, and a growing population of 25.1 million residents. Texas touches the border of four states namely; Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Texas supports the economy of US through both industrial and agricultural ways. Spain was the first European country to claim the area of Texas. France held a short-lived colony in Texas. Mexico controlled the territory until 1836 when Texas won its independence, becoming an independent Republic.

Association With Sports

A lot of people are attracted towards Texas because of its associations with sports. The person who is acting as a guide always tells the visitors about the sports organizations of Texas.  Certain clubs of Texas are included in the organization of National Football League. National Basketball Association has proudly included the club teams of Texas at the national level. National Baseball Associations also feels proud in including certain Texas team leagues. Dallas Stars is the only National Hockey League team which belongs from Texas.
