Tokyo used to be a city full of life and lights. It inhabited 13 million people, and bustled with activity. However, the earthquake that hit Japan has changed everything. Now Tokyo lies creepily in gloom.

The lights of buildings in Tokyo are turned off at night in order to save electricity. This is done to conserve electricity and avoid a massive shortfall later. The neon signs and street lights are also turned off. As a result, the city streets are creepily dark at night.

Fear of Radioactivity:

The people of Tokyo are aware that the Fukishima power plant located 148 miles away, is spewing radioactive chemicals into the air. People don’t venture out of their homes because they don’t want to come in contact with contaminated air. As a result the city has now become a dead man’s land.

Makeshift Shelters:

A large population had their homes destructed by the earthquake and subsequent flood. They are living in shelters with meager resources. The need to save electricity forces young students to study under the light of kerosene lamps at night.

Lack Of Business In Tokyo:
