For qualifying H1B visa, it’s necessary for alien to show that he/she is able to work in specialty occupation for which they’ve been hired by the sponsoring employer. It can be demonstrated by:

Having a relevant US college degree;

A non-US college degree with 3 years relevant high-level work experience will be considered equivalent to a relevant US college degree.

At least 12 years high-level work experience will be considered equivalent to a US college degree.

Having a State or Federal license that is required to practice in particular profession.
