While many would use culture as something that bonds them together, Traditions amidst the culture becomes another interrelating aspect.  With the changing race, attitudes and beliefs at every other corner, a specific set of practices that holds them together also take many different forms.  Below are a set of traditions that various sects carry out and are more dangerous than fun and games.

1. New Years Dive:

On the day of the New Year, countless divers gather around and take a dip into the Baikal lake. As if this isn’t dangerous enough, one specified diver carries the new year’s tree to plant it at the bottom of the lake.

2. Polar Bear Plunge:

The event aims to gather donations for the Special Olympics and welcomes a huge number of participants every year. The participants have to jump in cold water during the winter season, and the dodgy part is, that it may cause paralysis, hypothermia, and even death but fortunately, nothing of that sort has happened as of yet.

3. Firework Battle:

This is a battle between two churches on an Easter Sunday in Chios, Greece. While the service session carries on, these churches aim at each other’s bell with the help of 150 people. The crowd’s fires over 24,000 rockets and have caused damages to homes and even deaths in the past.

4. Baby Dropping Ritual:

This is a ritual where countless Muslim children are dropped down from a 13 meter tower into white sheets. The babies have been dropping in at Solapur, India for over 300 years with the faithful claim that no baby is ever harmed. They believe that the children grow up strong and healthy.

5. Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling:

Shenzhen was the small fishing town on the border of Hong Kong in 1970. But now it is capital with more than six million people. It has 20 skyscrapers of higher than 200 meters tall. Shun Hing Square is also among these which is the 8th tallest building in the world.

8. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur is the most impressive in the world which has very beautiful and wide sky lines. It has 10 skyscrapers build over 200 meters tall. three of the ten are among the 25 tallest buildings worldwide.

7. Toronto, Canada

Toronto is a multi cultural and ethnicity city. Including the amazing CN Tower which is 553 meters tall, Toronto has 7 skyscrapers in its skyline that are more than 200 meters. It is the tallest free-standing structure in North America which has the world’s highest observation deck.

6. Tokyo, Japan

The world’s most populated city Tokyo is also referred to the capital of the Eastern world. It has very dense skyline with 18 skyscrapers at over 200 meters tall. Read the full story

Palaces are being official residence of kings, emperors, presidents or other heads of state. While castles are such buildings which were made to protect the cities and people from invaders. Palaces are splendid buildings, which are made like that to give all ease, and lavishness that a royal family wish to have. Here are the 10 most impressive palaces, which are worth to visit.

1- Potala Palace Lhasa, Tibet

Potala Palace, Lhasa, Tibet. The old Potala Palace was built in 7th century. At that time Zhanpu King (Shuzhan Genpu) established Tufen Kingdom in Tibetand  Lhssa was its Capital, The Emperor of China’s Tamg Dynasty sent Princess Wenchen to merry Zhanpu King.

Zhanpu King decided “to build a city to show the glory”, then started to built Potala Palace on the Red Hill. There were 1,000 rooms in it; however the old Palace was destroyed during the war. The present Potala palace was re-built major after 17 century, particular during Dalai Lama V period.

The present Potala Palace is 119 meters height with 13 floors. It is famous for its high historical value and kept numerous treasure in it. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.

There are something’s which are worth to see while touring that palace. The White Palace, which use to be living quarters of the Dalai Lama; the Red Palace which is completely devoted to religious studies and Buddhist prayer; the incredible painted walls in the Great West Hall; the four chapels directly off of this hall; and the Tomb of the 13th Dalai Lama.
