“The eighth wonder of the world!” how many times have you heard that phrase? If you’re anything like me you’ll feel it’s probably lost its charm when you read it sprawled across a ready-meal add? The Stone Forest (China)

Known as the Shilin is a magnificent instance of karst scenery. The excavation of the limestone by waters underground forms this rocky, caved terrain that is so captivating you cant help but accept the beauty of creation. From the Ming Dynasty, this one took the title of the very “First Wonder of the World”.
Rio Tinto (Spain)

The cherry on top of this space-cake is that this water is extremely acidic with a pH of 1.7-2.5 and heavy metal rich.

Socotra Island (Indian Ocean)
How can one start to tell you about the Socotra Island of the Indian Ocean? By first telling you that its part of a group of 4 islands that hasn’t been part of the geographical mainland of Africa for some 7 million years? Or mentioning its harsh hot and dry climate?
