Background
The Great Wall of China was built for keeping its inhabitant safe from the outsiders. First Emperor of Qin put his worker, peasants, enemies and to those who have no work to do to work on the building of Great Wall of China. Army was assigned to guard over the laborer and to protect the northern boundaries.The making of Great Wall of China lasted centuries. Each ruler has done great work to its height, length, breadth and improved its design. The worker used in the construction were mostly forced to do the labor.
Present Structure of the Wall
Present form of Great Wall of China was came in to existence in the rule of Ming dynasty (1368-1644). More improved design and brick work was introduced in this phase. Modern canon and watch towers were re-structured and placed in important strategic areas. In this era Portuguese got good market in china for guns and canon. These items were not available in china that time. The Ming Emperors defeated the Hun and put their Mongol ruler out of North and worked enthusiastically to make sure that they did not return.
