Our world is a very wonderful place. People through time has brought many changes here. At the same time there are some changes that are brought by the nature itself. So nature and mankind go side by side. Here we have a list of the most amazing holes in the earth made by man or nature. Lets have a look.
Darvaza Gas Crater is a massive gas hole in Turkmenistan. In 1971, this site was discovered by the geologists as a great source of natural gas. During the making of the hole to tap the gas, the whole place was collapsed ending in a massive whole in the ground. For the prevention of the poisonous gases from there, the hole was left to burn. And it is still burning.

Kimberley Diamond Mine in South Africa is another big hole. In fact its a very controversial hole because for some people it is the world’s biggest hand made hole. But some do not agree with it. Its digging was started from 1866 to 1914 and almost 50,000 miners dug it with their own hands. 2,722 kg of diamonds has been dug. This diamond mine is in the process of being registered as a world heritage site.

Monticello Dam of California, United States is much noticed because of its large circular spillway. The rate is 48,400 cubic feet per second.
