Colca Canyon, Peru

With a fleeting look, the scale of Colca Canyon could easily be missed. It doesn’t possess as many startling drops as its American equivalent and its sloping climbs can be misleading but don’t let your eyes fool you; statistically there’s no contest between the two. Colca Canyon is over 3,000m (9,842ft) deep; that’s more than two times the depth of the Grand Canyon.

Although there are infinite eye-catching views and a huge variety of seasonal colors in Colca Canyon, the Andean Condor is the major attraction for tourists. The Cruz del Condor is the most popular location to watch condors ride the canyon’s thermal waves.

The Hagia Sophia is a sacred place for both great religions of the world Christian and Muslims.  For Christians it was Hagia Sophia “Church of the Holy Wisdom”.  It was the mother church of the Orthodox faith and of the thousand-year-old Byzantine Empire.

For Muslims it Ayasofya Camii means Mosque of Holy Wisdom and jewel of Istanbul.

But for the people of other faiths like in the words of 6th century historian Procopius it was having astonishing beauty, which attract the people so much.

Istanbul Hagia Sophia

History

Emperor Constantine expanded the Constantinople out to the shores of the Bosporus in 326 A.D. After 30 years of that expansion his successor built its first great church and it was named Hagia Sophia, but it stood only 172 years and it was burnt to ground by a violent crowds. That happened in 532 A.D. It occurred during the reign of Justinian the Builder, who would give the world the noblest kind “ tent of the heavens”. [click to continue…]

Turkish Airline Crash Proves Airline Safety Improved

A Turkish Airlines passenger plane Airbus 727 carrying 135 people aboard crashed on landing at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport. All passengers except five escaped the crash alive, injuring only 20.The plane, on a flight from Istanbul, broke up in three pieces when it hit the fields next to the runway.
