In the region of Austria, near the very famous and beautiful lake Hallstatter, there is a small village called Hallstatt. This place has got the world’s first salt mine, above downtown Hallstatt. This mine gives this place great historical importance. Peter Scheutz remained the mayor of the town since 1993. The whole town has the population of only 946 inhabitants.Today this small town is the focus of the tourists’ attraction. This is a very small yet beautiful place. Tourists who come here can watch this place easily on foot with in 10 minutes.

Hallstatt has always been a very secluded and peaceful area. There has never been any mentionable incident here in the whole Roman rule and middle ages. But the one special fact about it is that it has always been the sign of economic value because of the production of salt here. Hallstatt became a market town in 1311. The world’s oldest pipeline that was made 400 years ago by hollowing trees is here. The existence of this pipeline in that area attracts many tourists here and now this small town is a hot favorite holiday destination.
