The Belize Barrier reef is the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world. This is the diver’s paradise known for most beautiful coral formations, myriad fish and invertebrates, and exceptional water clearness.
This barrier reef is 160 miles long and it’s famous in tourists as Lighthouse Reef. The famous Blue Hole is located here also and its filled by crystal clear water this hole is 1,000 feet across and just over 400 feet deep. On the surface healthy circular coral formation makes it wonder within a wonder, but at the depth of 125 feet neither corals nor fish can be found. While there a diver can only see stalactites formed during the Ice Age when the world sea level was much lower and Blue Hole was an underground large dark hole. The hole was uncovered when the cavern’s roof collapsed.

At the south of the Belize Barrier Reef in clear waters there is Glover’s Reef, its surrounded by so clear water that even in night its visibility quite good. This reef is several miles away from the mainland, and its not affected by silt and sediment runoff. The arrival of divers at Glover’s shocked bright red cardinal fish swimming in open water, they rely on organs called lateral lines running along both sides of their bodies.
