The vast area on the tip of Long Island is place where old money yachters and nouveau riche Ralph Lauren mannequins love to come. They flaunt their money there throughout clam bakes and polo events. Now they are questioning whether they will ever be able to have food stamps at the lobster stand. With the flop of that ideal economic dichotomy, the Hamptons will no more be the boisterous beach community it at one time was.
