How to create iTunes account without credit card

There is a myth among apple users that iTune account creation requires you to provide credit card details. Well this is not true. A friend of mine just sent me following method of creating an iTunes account without the need of furnishing my credit card details. The method is very simple and I have just got an account for myself.
- Open iTunes
- Click on iTunes Store from the Left Side Pane.
- At the very bottom of the page, select My Store as “United States”.
- When the page opens at the Right hand side Under Quick Links, select “Redeem“.
- Now Go to this site : http://www.tunecore.com/freealbum You will get a Code from there.
- Paste that Code in the Redeem Screen of iTunes.
- You’ll be asked to Enter Your Apple/AOL IDs. Ignore that !
- Click on Create New Account at the bottom left of that Window.
- Enter your Details. Now at the Payment Screen you’ll see that Payment is Optional and None option is added.
- Simply Select that None option and Click Continue !
- Voila ! You’ve just created yourself a new iTunes Account totally FREE without any Credit Card !

oh my god, you idiots. It’s completely free to create an account. The reason they ask for your details is so that its simpler when you purchase things from the st0re. Now whenever you try and buy it will ask you to retry the entire process just to pay for it. nice.

Johnny and Bazil: You are gits. The reason for this tutorial is that apple wants your credit card info even if you’re not looking to buy anything from them. They want it just to let you download album covers to put on your iPod/Phone.

Didnt work… when ever i tried to buy something it would ask for my credit card and even though i selected none, it wont let me buy without a card.
This is cool, I suppose, except for the fact that the 34 downloads you get happen to be a TuneCore playlist. Which seems to be random stuff…

HEEEEEEEELP PLEASE!!!!! When i click on continue after doing everything a box appears saying “could not complete the itunes store request. The store may be busy” PLEASE HELP ME GUYS!!!

the code in the page is expired because it says it´s valid until de 30th, can´t get account =(
i dont live in the us should that code work for me plus it says that it expires on 30th can u plz provide us with another code.thanks very much

This code might have expired. I hope they will soon extend the period as they already did 3 times before.
