Bali is undoubted one of the most attractive destinations in Asia. There are certain reasons that travelers flock into this captivating island. Whether it is for a leisure holiday or adventure seeking journey, Bali has all the elements for a life time trip.
This article is the post-trip thoughts from Bailey where he proposes stunning ideas of the most adventurous things to do in Bali :
Tackle The Rapids With White River Rafting
Bali is home to some awesome rapids, which makes this one of the most adventurous things to do in Bali. If you seek adrenaline, then white water rafting will deliver. River Anung is the longest river in Bali and the rapids are grade 2 and 3 which means lots of water fun!
Climb The Active Volcano Mount Batur
If you want some of the most stunning sunrise views in the world, then a hike up Mount Batur is for you. This is an active volcano and the hike is done in the early hours of the morning so you can reach in time for sunrise.
You are greeted with breathtaking views of the highest volcano in Bali, Mount Agung. Batur is a volcano too, and you can see the steam coming out of it, which is super interesting.
Once you reach the top, you’ll have a light breakfast whilst taking in the stunning views. Truly a wonderful experience. You have to do the sunrise hike with a guide, but they’re fairly inexpensive, just shop around until you find one that suits you.
Get Up Close With Cheeky Monkeys
Whilst this may not seem like an “obvious” adventure activity, it is!
The monkey’s at monkey temple in Ubud can be a little unpredictable and they love to steal stuff, whether that’s bananas, glasses or mobile phones. They aren’t afraid to climb on your head, so it’s not a task for the faint hearted.
But, if you can handle it, then it’s a super fun activity to interact with monkeys. You can buy a batch of bananas whilst there to feed them. Just hide all loose items!
Swing Over Ayung River
If you haven’t heard of the famous “bali swing” then you’re in for a treat. It’s high up, with sweeping views of the river, the jungle and a mini waterfall.
It’s a beautiful sight, but those who are weary of heights will definitely need some convincing. This is sure to get your adrenaline pumping and makes for an awesome photo!
Explore The Whole Island By Moped
Driving a moped in Bali is not for the faint hearted. The traffic is chaotic, but that’s part of the charm and fun. Renting a moped allows you to discover areas of Bali that very few tourists visit so you can gain unique memories from your trip to Bali.
This means you’ll have beautiful secluded beaches to yourself and perhaps find beautiful waterfalls and undiscovered temples. Plus, renting a moped is super cheap, at around $3 a day.
Take A Hot Air Balloon Ride Over Bali
Want to see the stunning views of Bali from above? Then rise high on an amazing hot air balloon ride. You can experience stunning views of Mount Agung on the east horizon and the lush tropical forests of beautiful Ubud all from above.
Also, if you’re in search of a romantic adventure for two in Bali, then this is one of the best experiences on offer. It’s truly unique and beautiful. Or for more great ideas, you can check out this other epic post I wrote on Bali
Take The Ride Of Your Life On An ATV Quad Bike Adventure
Want to hit the open road with a quad bike!? This is possible all throughout the island in different areas. A popular spot is via the rice paddie fields near Ubud! The sharp turns, difficult terrain, and narrow pathways make this a thrilling experience for all. Top tip: do not wear white clothing!
If you’re too worried about driving the Quad bike on your own, don’t worry. There are drivers there who can drive for you whilst you experience the thrill as a back seat passenger.
Get Wet & Wild At WaterBom Park Bali
If you love thrilling water rides, then this is the best place for you. Rated the #1 waterpark in Asia and the #2 in the world, this is seriously one of the best waterparks in the world. It’s super clean, the staff are really friendly, and there are so many exciting rides to take on. Some thrilling, and some just scary!
There are some relaxing opportunities too after you’ve satisfied your adventurous side.
Explore The Underworld Of Bali In A Submarine
If you’re not a big fan of snorkelling or diving (or you just want a new experience) then a submarine experience in Bali is a fantastic way to see the stunning marine life on offer.
You’ll dive 300 ft underwater and a pilot will be on board to tell you all about the sea life, corals and stunning fish around you.
Discover The Abandoned Airplanes Of Bali
If you want an adventurous experience, then rent a moped for the day (super cheap as mentioned before!) and discover some of the abandoned airplanes of Bali.
You can find a Boeing 737 in Kuta, a DC 10 in Kuta which is located on top of the once abandoned Gate 88 Mall and another 737 in Bukit Peninsula.
The Gate 88 Mall is also now host to random pop up parties and club nights with famous DJs, so it’s a unique experience in itself with an airplane on top.
So there you have it, my guide to 10 of the most adventurous things to do in Bali. You’ll definitely need a couple of weeks minimum to take on these adventures, but once you visit Bali, you’ll soon realize you never want to leave.
