Visit Italy in Winter Season

It may not be a good idea to visit Italy in winter. However, you have an advantage of evading the multitude of people by going in not so popular time with the tourists. You don’t have to stand for long time in the queues to visit the monuments, like St. Peter’s Basilica, Florence’s Duomo, Vatican Museum and many other churches, museums and memorial places. Visitor Tax in Rome

From Jan 1, 2011 Rome has started to levy a fee as a Rome Visitor Tax that has to be deposited at hotel the time of leaving the hotel. This tax of €2-3 (US$3-4) is mandatory, else per night cost of a person is allied to type of lodging you choose.

Type of Trip

It must be independent with air ticket. It will cover the round trip with flights for the airports of JFK, LaGuardia or Newark to Rome. The flight returns from Venice to New York.

It includes three nights stay each in Rome, Florence and Venice, daily facility of classic European breakfast, traveling between cities through reserved train tickets, hotel service charges and other taxes and also airline fuel charges.

Other Charges

The additional amount that you need to pay is around US$106 in terms of air taxes and fees. Besides that, it is the Rome Visitor Tax as described above.

Make your bookings as early as possible, so that you may not lose your chance!

For the dates Feb 24, 2011 and March 1-3, 8-10, 15-17, 23-24, the charges will start from US$1099-1199.

If traveling from Atlanta, Chicago or Los Angeles; then add US$25, 64 and 124 respectively.
