Your Who’s Who Nomination: Scam Emails

Spammers and Con Artists are getting more and more shrewd in their methods and designs. We have all seen the Nigerian Email Scam, but this one is brand new. The con artist is after the personal information and probably is trying to fish some big ones in it’s net. Following is the email I received tonight.

  1. I’ve been duped into the IWW of profesionals as well some years ago. i paid like 500 bucks for a tiny bio that nobody reads, except me. Imagine the tons of money they make when you see the thick books with thousands of tiny bios in there

  2. Yes, I received this email today, and that too on my official email id.. its shrewd and unbelievable, thankfully my office bocks suspicious sites and though I clicked on the link, didnt get affected, better always to do a search on the names in the email before clicking on anything!!!

  3. I have been talking to these guys. The final straw was today when i got a call to verify the final details before publication. After that I was asked for my credit card. Foolishly I gave the card number. He went on to ask for the last three digits and from what i understand, i should not give that. but he insisted. Knowing that there is insufficient funds i gave him and he then asked me to sign online. i queried this and his response was that it wasn’t going to charge, but for me to have access to the book i had to do that. i did and I could feel his disappointment when he realised there were insufficient funds. They will phone me in a week. I pray he does after all the info I have seen online. Don’t be fooled like I had.

  4. Yes, I have been interviewed tonight by a lady for 30 mins. She wanted my credit card no.. I dont know anything about them. Is it a scam. I have to pay $700 for membership. Should I go forward?
